IO Echo, a band from America who have previously opened gigs for Nine Inch Nails, played at Coachella and Lollapalooza and have also toured with Garbage, have released a free small mixtape titled ‘I’ve Been Vaping Your Tears’.
The 4-song mixtape features a cover of Mariah Carey’s song “Heartbreaker”, two versions of a song titled “Microwave” and “No Getting Over Me” that features NAR. The mixtape has slowed down version of “Heartbreaker” is almost unrecognisable until the hook kicks in, mixing samples, electronic bass-lines, piano, angelic background vocals, and an original version of Mariah’s 1999 song from her 7th album, Rainbow.
Other songs such as “Microwave”, are somehow spooky up until the beat drops, and the track evolves to a hip-hop like beat.
After forming the band in LA, and releasing a single called “While You Were Sleeping”, the band has released this ‘I’ve Been Vaping Your Tears’ mixtape.
